Crew and Volunteer FAQs

Q. What time do I start volunteering?

A. The start and end times vary depending on what position you volunteer for. Our Crew Managers will work with you to find a crew position the fits with your schedule.

Q. Can Crew Fundraise?

A. Many of our Crew do fundraise. While there is no requirement to do so, we encourage everyone to try. Since 2002, the AIDS Ride Wisconsin Crew has raised over $100,000 in the fight against HIV/AIDS! Need help getting started? Contact your Crew Manager!

Q. Do I need a vehicle to transport myself?

A. You are not required to bring your own vehicle, although for some crew positions it is helpful and/or necessary. We provide transportation throughout the event, but you are responsible for getting to your assigned start location and home when your shift is complete. Your Crew Manager will work with you to ensure that you find a position that fits your transportation situation.

Q. Do Crew members stay overnight?

A. Multi-day Crew members are invited to stay overnight at the Ripon College dorms. The cost for their room and board and meals is covered in the $50 registration fee. Both riders and Multi-day Crew typically stay at camp but are not required to do so.

Q. Are meals provided?

A. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided for Multi-day Crew members only. One-day volunteers are welcome to enjoy snacks at the rest stops.

Q. Do volunteers participate in the Welcome Home Party?

A. Yes! All riders and crew are invited to attend the Welcome Home Party. We want to celebrate you and your help in the fight against HIV/AIDS!
