Welcome to Christopher Scott Henry's Personal Fundraising Page
When I first volunteered for AIDS Ride Wisconsin in 2009 it was at the suggestion of a friend. At the time it seemed like the right thing to do, it was fun, and many of my friends were also involved with the ride. However, over the years as I became more deeply involved with the ride I gained a lot of insight into the fight against AIDS and the need for the services provided by ARCW (AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin).
This will be my 9th year volunteering for AIDS Ride Wisconsin as a member of the Steering Committee and as the Crew Manager - overseeing the volunteers who support the riders on their 250-mile journey. AIDS Ride Wisconsin is planned and produced primarily by volunteers with the goal of maximizing the financial return to ARCW by keeping administrative and overhead costs as low as possible. Over the course of all of the rides, over 1,100 riders and 650 crew have traveled through small towns and cities all over southern Wisconsin, spreading the word that AIDS continues to affect our state, and raising more than $3 million for the fight against AIDS.
I ask that you help in the fight against AIDS by making a tax deductible donation to ARCW on my behalf to help this agency in the important work that they do.
ARCW’s HIV Medical Home, the only one in America, is leading the way by integrating health and social services. It assures care for all. Medical care, dentistry and mental health therapy to assure great health outcomes. Housing, drug treatment, food, legal representation, financial assistance and case management services work together with health care to overcome difficult social barriers.
The results are clear:
- 90% of ARCW’s patients have an undetectable viral load, which is 18% points higher than the national average for HIV specialty clinics.
- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services just released their new data and, once again, Wisconsin ranked first with the lowest HIV mortality rate in America. People are living longer with HIV in Wisconsin than anywhere else.
